Museum Box

This website is a great way for students to display multimedia that pertains to a project.  Students can add video, sound, links, images, and text to their own "box".  Skillin is now registered, so this is great time to use this with students!
Be on the look-out in the new year when second grade will be creating their own museum boxes!

Google Sites

Google has much to offer when it comes to online applications.

One feature is creating a website.  Under the "Links", I have four videos from Radford University.  These are good tutorials about how to create your own website.

Although there are many free programs to use to build a website, Google sites can be used for multiple purposes.  One interesting aspect is that the site can be shared with only certain people and others can also have editing privileges.  This is excellent for group projects or student collaboration.

By watching these tutorials you can have a good introduction to knowing how to create your own website!

VoiceThread & Moodle

Now it seems you can use VoiceThread to Moodle!  What a great extention!  Moodle is one way for students to discuss, take polls, and chat about books, issues, topics, or anything.  VoiceThread allows for students to record their voice or another person's voice.  This can be great when interviewing someone.

It seems that now you can combine these two applications where students can use VoiceThread with Moodle!  So in addition to typing, students can record their voices too!

This information came to me from Free Tech. 4 teachers.

Do note that the site uses pop-ups, so you will want to allow for this feature in your web browser.

Interactive Graphic Organizers

Here is a site which will allow students to work online to complete a graphic organizer for essays, stories, and more!  Students can type, then save, and print!  This is great way for students to organize their ideas on the computer.
